I am an experimental psychologist. I explore how the brain creates the visual and auditory sensations that shape our everyday conscious experiences and social behaviors.

My research bridges several disciplines within psychology, including visual and multimodal perception, affective/social neuroscience, cognition, and development.

I received a Ph.D. in Psychology at Northwestern University where I worked in the Visual Perception, Neuroscience, and Cognition Lab of Satoru Suzuki and Marcia Grabowecky, and the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab of Ken Paller. Prior to graduate school, I studied neuroendocrinology in the Brain-Body Center at the University of Illinois - Chicago, with Michael Ruscio and C. Sue Carter. As an undergraduate, I worked in the Social Emotive Neuroscience Lab at the University of Wisconsin - Madison with Eddie Harmon Jones.
